Group Baby Shower Bliss and Braxton Hicks: A Weekend Recap!

This past weekend was a busy one! Saturday was all about prepping for the group baby shower. I spent the day making Furikake Chex Mix favor bags for the party. If you don’t already know, I have a small business called Tasteful.Kraev where I sell Hawaiian Furikake Chex Mix and other goodies on occasion. My best seller is my Spicy Furikake Chex Mix—check it out on IG and FB :) @tasteful.kraev. I've taken some time off from the business during this pregnancy, but I’ll be back at it soon. Prepping the favor bags pretty much took up my whole day.

Sunday was our group baby shower day! We celebrated 3 mamas, it was supposed to be 4 but she wasn't feeling too good. I was a little sad that many people didn’t end up coming, but those who did were such great company! I met some new faces, and we had a lot of fun playing 2 games. I was in charge of the poopy diaper game where you guess the chocolate inside the diaper. I had 10 different chocolates, and the prize basket was a “spicy” gift basket only for the adults haha. Putting that basket together was a blast, and it was entertaining to watch everyone's reactions to its contents. The other game was “you can't say Baby,” and my daughter ended up winning by collecting the most pins from catching people saying "Baby." She was on a mission to catch everyone! All in all, it was a great time chatting with everyone, and everyone was so generous in giving us moms gifts, even those we hadn’t met before. Just good vibes with great people. I’m thankful to have met them and so happy to have celebrated with all of them.

I hit 36 weeks on Saturday, and Braxton Hicks really upped her game this weekend—I had a couple of close calls. Last night especially, I woke up with cramps that felt like the real thing, but they stopped after a while and never came back. So I’m relieved that the baby didn’t decide to make an entrance yet haha. Just one more day closer to waiting for daddy. It gave me more time to prep all the baby clothes—I washed them, and now the challenging part is finding space to put them. Our house is so small, and I have no idea where I can store them. I have a plastic drawer, but there are only 2 empty drawers left, and I don't think it will fit all the baby clothes. This week, I'll pack my hospital bag at some point haha. I keep saying I’ll do it one day, and then 4 days end up passing by... I really need to get on that!

Today is Monday—ohhh Mondays... I know I’m a stay-at-home mom, but Mondays still hit like they did when I was working full-time. My friend Judy is going to help me take the dogs to get their 5-year rabies vaccine. I’m not looking forward to it because Gimli gets too excited when he sees other dogs and tries to rush towards them—he’s not a small dog; this boy is over 60 lbs and has a lot of power to him. His bark sounds scary when he’s not trying to be scary. I just hate the judgment that people give when a dog barks at theirs—that’s just what dogs do... If you’re one of those dog parents, well, we can agree to disagree haha. We shall see how it goes, and hopefully, he doesn’t get too crazy.
